Considering User Experience (UX) in web design

Posted by Randy Smith on May 13, 2012 7:52:18 AM

User Experience (UX) is a term used to describe a user's overall satisfaction level when using your product or system. Simply put, if it's a good experience, they're happy. If it's a bad experience, your customers don’t come back.

Establishing great UX design is a combination of well thought out considerations with regards to visual design, information architecture, structuring, labeling, and visitor identification. This is why we incorporate research and planning time with custom web design and development projects, as well as creating custom UX designs. We don't use templates for custom design projects because they simply don't take into consideration any of the important UX ingredients and are often focus on just providing aesthetically appealing graphics. One size does not fit all.

The bottom line is that different people use different websites in different ways. Identifying those visitors and how they interact with your web site will provide a design team with the specific information they need to build a user experience that will successfully satisfy your customers and site visitors.
